Do you ever give yourself a word limit to write before you can blog or read emails, etc?
This week I've joined the Fast Draft Express - which is working out great for me in getting myself back to 'writing' as fast as I can type - - ususally I blurt out about 600 words in a sitting then take a break and move me and the laptop to another location and blurt out some more.
I say 'blurt' because it's mostly dialogue and I barely look at what I'm typing - so my 'inner editor' doesn't show up and start reading what's on the page.
Today's total is 1,800 words
I have more time to write but I'm going to use it to prepare a chapter to bring to my critique group tomorrow.
Enjoy the process!

At my writing group, we used to speed write for 15 minutes before we got started. Sometimes we brought in props, like photos or paintings or other inspiring objects, to get us going. It's amazing what came out of those few minutes of writing. Giving yourself a word limit or a goal (such as, not going on the internet before writing) can be a good way to really focus.

Thanks Ann,
I tend to go to emails nd internet fistt - for max of an hour then write
If I feel tempted [ obsessed LOL!] to check again - I tell/ask myself - What's the pont?
That usually stops me :o)
